We love the fact that so many of Tommy’s viewers and supporters are people with Autism, Aspergers, and many other special needs. It always makes us really happy to hear from you, and to know that you enjoy Tommy and really understand him, too!
Families with loved ones with Autism and other special needs also often follow Tommy’s channel and send us the most heartwarming messages too. We are so, so glad that you write to us, and that you find joy in following Tommy’s adventures!
And, of course, we love the fact that so often Tommy’s viewers knew little or nothing about Autism, somehow stumbled across his videos, and began their own journey with open minds and heart to learn about Autism and some of the mystery, challenges, and joy it brings! Thank you all for embracing Tommy 🙂
We want to say thank you, to each and every one of you, from Tommy and our family. You help us to understand how important it is that Autism has a voice, a face, and real stories…like Tommy’s story. We are proud that Tommy makes Autism real, friendly, happy, and OK. And good, and inspiring, and hopeful. And joyful. There is so much joy 🙂
We would like to begin sharing some of the messages from viewers here. Enjoy!
Demy, a YouTube viewer from Amsterdam, made a powerpoint presentation about Tommy for her class, and sent it to Tommy!
In this video, Tommy reads it for the first time.
On YouTube, Tommy’s videos get the most awesome comments. On his 3 million views video, this comment made us smile:

“Thank you the Des Brisay family for these videos. If been studying for my state board nursing test and been a total crazy person. These videos helped me relax and smile. During my test when I got nervous and was going to lose focus. I though how am I going to calm myself down? Tommy popped in my head for some reason so I sang “one step in front of the lawmen” in my head. I smiled and relaxed and continued on. Thank you Tommy and the Des Brisays for being an inspiration. If Tommy can do great things in life, so can I.”
Thanks for sharing, Katrina 🙂
Hello Des Brisay family,
My name is Chambria and I was one of the Disney cast members that assisted you with wristbands at the Halloween party last night. I would just like to say thank you for giving me Tommy’s card. Tommy’s story about how Disney became his second home really brought a smile to my face. I hope that this trip was special for you as well.
P.S.
Tommy was the best Kristoff I have seen to date.
Hi Chambria, This is Tommy’s mom. We are very happy to have met you! Thanks so much for writing and visiting Tommy’s page!! I remember our chat that night while getting our wristbands 🙂 Hope we cross paths again on another future Disney trip! Please say hi on Facebook too <3
Hi Tommy – – I was a flight attendant on your trip from Orlando on Thursday evening.
I wanted to send you a quick note to say Thank You for sharing your love of flying with us! We sometimes forget how much fun our job is, but you reminded us on take-off and landing! Weeeeeeeee…… Hands in the air like the best roller coaster you’ve ever been on!
Your fun spirit is infectious!
Thanks for making us smile and appreciate our day.
Michelle
Hi Michelle, This is Tommy’s mom, MaryAnn! Thank you so much for writing! It makes us so happy that you enjoyed Tommy’s “Hands up in the air and say Wheee!!!” Flying really is magical, and Tommy’s joy reminds me of that too…I used to get nervous when I flew, but Tommy changed that and made it fun for me 🙂 The first time we flew to Orlando, in 2009, Tommy surprised us with his takeoff “Whee!” and he has cheered on takeoff every time since that first flight. Thank you to you, and all the flight attendants and others at Westjet who have embraced Tommy and our family, and for everything you do each day to help travellers like us stay happy and safe. Your job is demanding, we know, and your smiles are very appreciated <3
Hi my name is Lia,
A few days ago I was scanning though YouTube trying to find something new and different to watch. I clicked on one. Turns out it was Tommy. Tommy, I would like to call you a friend. I’m a 14 year old and have been picked on/bullied since I was in 4th grade, you have made me feel special because you show everyone that being different is usually for the better, And I should see it that way.I have received an assignment to do a speech on a someone who inspires you. You being myself having lots of friends and family that all inspire me though their talents. You do more then that, you inspire me in a different way every time I watch another video. I think… No I am picking you. Thank you Tommy (and your family) for always inspiring me. Quick Question, Is their an email or an address that I can mail a (personal) letter too?
Thank you for all your inspiration,
Lia
